I popped into The Flower Factory last week, and couldn’t help but admire their contemporary wreath designs. Kalen & Gloria (two of the wonderful designers at the Flower Factory) were kind enough to give me a quick wreath-making tutorial and I thought I’d share it with you. For this style wreath, you’ll need a plain vine wreath (available at most craft stores), winter greens of your choice, garden shears and a small knife.
Step 1: Trim small bunches from your greenery.
Step 2: Strip two to 3 inches from the bottom of your trimmed greenery bunches so that you have a stem.
Step 3: Insert the stems of your greens directly into the vine wreath. Repeat and continue inserting different types of greens around your wreath.
You can add accents along the way, using greenery with buds or flowers, and even using pinecones that have been wired or stemmed.
Once you’re satisfied with how your wreath looks, simply finish it off with a bit of ribbon and you’re done! We decided not to completely cover this wreath with greens because I love how the vine branches looked. Thanks for my lovely wreath Gloria & Kalen! I love it!
If you want one of The Flower Factory‘s wreaths and don’t feel like making it yourself, they do still have some gorgeous ones in the shop!
