Love Story – Britney & Garrett – Jacquelynn Brynn Photography

We love seeing weddings that were clearly handcrafted with love and passion, and this “Into the Woods” affair is definitely that and more.  I love so many details from this wedding – from their beautiful antler monogram, personal touches, romantic ceremony setting, to the quote about their archway.  It’s all so beautiful!

from the bride:

My husband, Garrett proposed to me on Valentine’s Day 2015 at the Chihuly Glass Garden in Seattle.  It was the perfect, most romantic proposal. We had dinner under the glass ceiling in the museum and just before desert he took me outside to the gardens, under the space needle and got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.

Like any other bride I was so excited to get planning for our special day. The first step- A venue. Venue after venue came and went. Some beautiful, some worn down, some over done and some way over priced. We wanted something custom, something original to who we are and what our adventure means.

After weeks of venue hunting & knowing I was moving to Denver, Colorado in just a few short weeks, we took a trip to my parents cabin.  We decided right there that there would be no perfect place but to get married then at my family’s cabin in Leavenworth where I grew up & we spent many fun weekends there while dating.

Our theme was simple, a backyard wedding in the woods that was rustic and whimsical. From the reclaimed painted desk with our vintage typewriter/guest book on it, the lit up custom sign shinning bright with our initials, to the custom designed invitations & logos (that I got to design myself). We wanted people to experience something just as we were experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The custom details didn’t stop there. Every aspect of our venue, we had to create and bring to what was once a lot field with just bushes and trees. A custom bar designed by my dad, supplied a perfect spot for guest to grab their favorite drink. Evergreen planed benches cut and sanded by the bride’s father, for guest to sit on during the ceremony; an old dresser turned into an outdoor sink complete with vanity lights and warm running water.  The ceremony right up against the Wenatchee River. It was a perfect fall day for a wedding in the woods. Not to mention we served our guests a delicious dinner of hand caught Alaskan Salmon by my Uncle. Yum!

We did a lot of custom unique projects for our wedding & got a lot of inspiration from Martha Stewart blogs and tutorials.
