Style Story: Classic Couture

Last month, we had the honour of being invited to “The Art of Romance”, a stunning Bridal Gown Presentation by local designer Jason Matlo, at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia.  We were so completely blown away by the beautiful bridal gowns on display!  This gown was our favorite of the collection, with it’s statement bow and intricate scalloped embroidery detail.  Don’t you love how it elegantly hugs our model’s curves? (Bonus points if you recognize our gorgeous model – she’s the only one who could fit into the runway sized gown!)

From the designer:

“Classic couture shapes and details are inspired by 1950s silhouettes with retreated waistlines and gathered full skirts.  The textures, beading, prints and lace are reminiscent of Art Deco prints. Dove grey, champagne, ecru and black tones create a modern bridal look that although vintage in concept is opulent, chic and modern.

When you go into bridal boutiques you see a sea of sameness and we didn’t feel the need to create dresses that look like everything else. We wanted to create a niche.”

We love featuring local talent and are absolutely in love with this dress!  It even made our model want to get married all over again, in this dress.
